Our Story

POLPO has been serving Venetian style sharing plates to Londoners since 2009. Taking inspiration from the traditional bàcaris of Venice, the menu comprises of cicheti (Venetian snacks) followed by larger dishes including pasta and pizzettes, all of which are designed to be shared between the whole table. POLPO uses traditional Italian cooking methods with a modern approach brought to life by a mixture of British and Italian ingredients. Our chefs create seasonal specials throughout the year taking advantage of the abundance of wonderful produce available which sit alongside the classics on the menu.

POLPO started off as a stand alone restaurant in London’s iconic Soho before adding a site in Chelsea’s Duke of York Square. The original Soho branch still exists at the same location on Beak Street and has a long bar with seating and typical Italian decor.
